The Keller Peak Repeater Association is dedicated to serving our community via Ham Radio. KPRA owns and operates an open amateur radio repeater with an input of 146.985 and output of 146.385, located on Keller Peak at approximately 8,000 feet, in the San Bernardino, California, mountains.   There is a 146.2 CTCSS tone required at this time.

We would like to invite everyone to check in take part in the Nets that are held on this repeater. Below is a list of the Nets and details.

The Red Eye net is held each evening at 11:00 P.M. by Anne N6BOP.

Tuesday evenings at 8:00 we have the Rescue Net hosted by Mike KG6WSL . This is a semi-closed net held mainly for the local San Bernardino & Riverside County Emergency Response Agencies, so that they can get better familiar with each others functions & protocols.

Wednesday evenings at 7:30 we have the SKYWARN net hosted by Phill KG6ZHW . Phill will have his Skywarn check-ins as well as users who would like to check in. Phill also explains allot of the weather related terms and is free to answer any questions you may have about the causes and results of any weather conditions. So tune in and check-in to the SKYWARN net.

Thursday evenings at 7:30pm we welcome the Outdoor Adventure USA Net. This Net is for those who like to drive off road, in snow, in mud. They discuss dangers, technique as well as search and rescue for those in very remote locations. Their first host will be Gordon West. So check in and please feel free to participate in the net.

 

The SATERN net is held every Sunday at 8:00Pm so be sure and check-in. If you would like to learn more about satern simply click on the highlighted word SATERN.

KPRA would also like to welcome the San Bernardino Search & Rescue to the repeater. In accordance with Public Safety, the SAR group will be utilizing the repeater to communicate while searching for people in the rough terrain and difficult area's that have communication restrictions. They have found that the Keller Peak Repeater covers a vast area and makes communication possible in the hard to reach areas. The SAR folks are also conducting classes for VEC testing for their officers. They currently have aprox, 40 licensed personnel on the force.
